Following the new directives set out by Prime Minister Legault on Thursday, the Municipality of Saint-Hippolyte is putting in place measures aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19 among the population and protecting its employees. Therefore, all Leisure Department activities, including course programming, are canceled until further notice. External committees and citizen meetings are also suspended.
Town hall, the library and the Recreation Center are closing their doors to the general public from now until March 30. However, office employees will process citizens' requests while teleworking.
All emergency services will be maintained, including first responders and fire. The Public Works Department will also continue its activities. In addition, the food counter has implemented new procedures and hygiene measures to ensure the maintenance of its activities. Likewise, the Adapted and Collective Transport of the MRC de la Rivière-du-Nord (TAC) maintains all its activities.
“We consider it our responsibility to put in place preventive measures that will ensure the safety of the population and our employees. We would like to reassure citizens who will be able to count on the follow-up of their request from our various services. The objective is to contribute to the collective effort aimed at slowing down the contagion in the next two weeks which are considered critical. Our priority must remain that of the health and well-being of the Hippolyte population. » underlines Mayor Bruno Laroche.
