The Association de Protection du Lac de l’Achigan (APLA) is committed to protecting the health and integrity of Lac de l’Achigan and contributing to the quality of life of its community.

Lac de l’Achigan is a fragile ecosystem and a precious living environment.

Protecting it depends on a shared understanding of the issues affecting the lake and on the commitment of the entire community.

APLA works to:

• protect water quality and the ecological health of the lake;

• raise awareness and provide residents and lake users with information about environmental issues and best practices;

• encourage responsible behaviours that contribute to the protection of the lake and its shoreline;

• monitor and document environmental issues affecting the lake;

• represent the concerns of shoreline residents to the relevant authorities and partners;

• work with the Municipality, organizations and experts to promote informed and sustainable decisions;

• mobilize the community around the protection of the lake.​
