CURRENT PROJECTS
Water quality monitoring
APLA participates in various initiatives aimed at monitoring changes in the lake's water quality. This monitoring helps detect changes, identify potential sources of degradation, and better guide protection efforts.
Prevention of cyanobacteria
Cyanobacteria pose a significant challenge to several lakes in Quebec. Our efforts aim to better understand the factors that contribute to their growth and to promote practices that reduce nutrient inputs into the lake.
Control of invasive aquatic plants
The presence of invasive aquatic plants can disrupt the balance of ecosystems and harm the uses of the lake. APLA supports various monitoring, awareness, and prevention initiatives to limit their spread.
Riverbank protection
The health of riverbanks plays a vital role in water quality.
Our projects encourage the adoption of natural features and practices that promote shoreline stabilization and erosion reduction.
Awareness and mobilization
Protecting the lake also requires community involvement.
APLA organizes information and awareness activities to encourage responsible actions for the preservation of our environment.
